Our lovely old home - Thatcholme - is a beautiful part-thatched 17th century cottage, full of character but with a brand new architect designed extension for modern family living. We are situated in the small, friendly and picturesque village of Linton, with the historic city of Cambridge, with its famous colleges, punting on the river Cam, museums, galleries, theatres and wide range of great restaurants only 20 mins drive away.

Linton has two fantastic traditonal pubs - one thatched and with lovely riverside beer garden - which both sell highly recommended food, so you won't have far to go for great eats after a tiring day's site-seeing.

There's some fantastic countryside round about to explore with pretty old villages and National Trust/English Heritage properties, however, the direct train service will take you into central London in only 1 hr 15 mins, making it an easy destination for a day out, if you want to experience the many famous sites there.

Stanstead airport is a mere 35 mins away. Saffron Walden, a beauiful old maket town with streets of gabled houses and some smashing little shops for souvenir shopping, is only 15 mins drive away. For those of you with small children, we happen to live about 5 mins walk from a small zoo.
