Welcome to our home in Toronto's beautiful Beaches neighbourhood. We live in a very special house, a red brick Victorian farmhouse built in 1889 for an executive with the Grand Trunk Railway. The house is designated Toronto Heritage and has been very well preserved.

While its outside appearance is very similar to what it was like 120 years ago (including original stained glass windows), the inside has been completely renovated to very high standards. Marble ensuite bathroom with glass shower stall and clawfoot tub, huge kitchen with granite counters, very large island, Viking gas range, dishwasher and built-in wine fridge. 3 fireplaces (all functional) and central air conditioning, 2 1/2 bathrooms. Master Bedroom has a King size bed and cathedral ceiling, 2 kids bedrooms (one double, one single) and a 4th bedroom with Queen bed. A sofabed is also available in the basement recreation room, which is where the flat screen TV is. Wifi Internet of course. And a lovely garden with lots of different areas to sit (including a patio set for 8 and Vermont Castings gas BBQ). There's also a laundry room with high efficiency washer and dryer in the basement.

We do have a cat, Felix, and if our hosts don't mind taking care of him that would be great, but we can also make alternate arrangements for Felix!

We are very fortunate to be living in one of Toronto's nicest and most family-friendly neighbourhoods called The Beaches (or The Beach according to the city of Toronto). Within walking distance you will find shops, restaurants, parks, a boardwalk along Lake Ontario (connected to a bicycle trail that covers all of Toronto's waterfront) and, of course, beaches (although they have multiple names, it is basically one long sandy beach).

We are also within a 10 minute walk to a commuter train station (12 minutes to downtown, no stops) and within a 15 minute walk to the subway (about 40 minutes to downtown). And within about 4 minutes you can walk to a bus stop and 2 different streetcar (tram) lines. No need for a car unless you plan to leave Toronto!
