Group of 6 houses with large shared pool and garden.The buildings consist of an old farmhouse and outbuildings that were all renovated in 2001. They are all used as holiday homes and have English owners. The site consists of 3 buildings -6 homes in all. Our house was the living part of the farmhouse; our neighbours' was the working part with bottling and storage area and a large Byre for cows. Our upper terrace was where the pigsty and chicken coop stood.
The house is on 3 levels; the kitchen to the back is partially underground so is always cool even in summer. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven, (bottled) gas hob, dishwasher, microwave,washing machine and tumble drier.
Rural location 1-2 hrs from major tourist sites of Dordogne & Bordeaux vineyards. We are a pleasant 1km walk from the tiny village of Lusignac which has a bar which serves food. The nearest town is Riberac which has a very lively market every Friday morning and good supermarkets.
The area is ideal if you enjoy walking. The Dordogne Valley has some beautiful old villages and famous cave paintings. The wine areas around Bordeaux and Begerac are also worth visiting as is the old wine village of St Emillion.
