Cutbush Cottage is the smallest house in a converted Victorian courtyard, which was once part of a large horse- racing establishment.

The two-storey cottage has two double bedrooms, a study and bathroom upstairs. Below is a large living/dining room with French windows onto the partly paved patio garden. A compact, fully-fitted kitchen, library/store-room and w.c. open onto the entrance hall. Private parking is immediately outside.

The cottage is warm and comfortable. It would suit a couple, perhaps with an occasional guest. There is internet connection, via broadband, television/VCR/DVD player, and radio

Beckhampton is well known in horseracing circles. Horses can be seen going to exercise on the Marlborough Downs (2 minutes’ walk away) in the morning. In the afternoon, humans are welcome to walk on the Downs, which are magnificent.

We are part of the village of Avebury, home of the famous and mysterious ‘Stones’ (rivalling those at Stonehenge)dating back thousands of years – well worth a visit. Our pub, ‘The Waggon & Horses’, has very fine beer and pretty good food too, which can be enjoyed by the fireside in winter, or in the garden in summer.

There is excellent shopping in historic Marlborough, six miles away (bus service), with supermarkets, restaurants, leisure centre, and shops of all kinds. There are pretty churches in all the nearby villages.

London is 80 miles: easy by train (full details in house). Nearby is Bath (25 miles), Oxford (50 miles) and numerous National Trust properties. Winston Churchill’s birthplace, Blenheim, the village of Lacock (where ‘Pride and Prejudice’ was filmed) and the Queen’s residence at Windsor Castle, are all accessible for day trips.
