Sutton is 9 miles from the centre of Dublin, set on a sandy isthmus attached to the Howth peninsula on the northern shores of Dublin Bay. First settled in the Bronze Age it has a rich history of invasion by Normans, Vikings, pirates and others, resulting in a legacy of ancient tombs, an Abbey, a Castle and Napoleonic fortifications. An area of outstanding natural beauty with cliff walks and diverse flora and fauna, it also has an active fishing village and marina in Howth harbour. Howth village has some excellent pubs and restaurants and the train line offers the option of cosmopolitan Dublin city centre only 30 minutes away. For the sporting enthusiast, Sutton is located close to world famous Portmarnock Golf Club and a number of other golf courses while nearby entertainment centres offer swimming, bowling and snooker.
Our house is the middle of a five house Victorian terrace, located on a quiet road and backing onto a white sand beach with views of the Mourne Mountains to the north. Recently refurbished it extends to 2,250 sq.ft. with five bedrooms and two bathrooms, a living room, utility room and a large family room at the rear. It has all modern household conveniences including wireless internet and satellite TV.. We own an Audi Avant 1.9 TDI and a convertible Volkswagen Beetle.
Our family includes Damian and Maria, Boy (21) and Girl (18) both attending University College Dublin, Girl (15), Boy (13) and Girl (7).
