Exchange Agreements

How to create an exchange agreement

Step 1

Click the “Exchange Agreements” link in the “Member options...” menu on the left hand side of the page.

Step 2

You will see an overview page that will lists any agreement you have created in the past

Step 3

Click the “Add new exchange agreement ” link to get started.

Step 4

You will see a screen asking for the other members member number or last name. 

Step 5

Click on the name link to select the test member as the person you are writing an exchange agreement with.

Step 6

You will see a page titled “Your exchange partner staying in your home”.  Please enter the exchange type, the dates your partner will stay in your home and how your partner will get the keys. Then click the “Continue” button at the bottom of the page.

Step 7

You will see a page titled “Staying in your exchange partners home”. You can enter the details about your stay with them. If you do not know when you will be doing the second half of the exchange just check the “I will not know the dates when I will be staying in their home until sometime after they have stayed with me.” box.  Then click the “Continue” button at the bottom of the page.

Step 8

You will see a page titled “Your address and contact details”.  Please enter your contact details and then click the “Continue” button at the bottom of the page.

Step 9

You will see a page titled “Exchange party members”.  Here you can enter the names of the people staying in both homes. You can easily add, edit or delete names later before the agreement is signed. Then click the “Continue” button at the bottom of the page.

Step 10

You will see a page titled “Agreement language”.  On this page you can pick the actual language the exchange agreement will be drafted in. For Australians this will usually be English. Then click the “Continue” button at the bottom of the page.

Step 11

You will see a page titled “Add the conditions for your agreement”.  On this page you can add and edit the conditions that make up an exchange agreement. We recommend that you include all the standard ones. To choose on of the optional conditions, just check the box on the left of the condition. If you want to adjust the wording, you can edit any of the text fields on the right. You are also free to write your own conditions in the text field at the bottom of the page. Then click the “Continue” button at the bottom of the page.

Step 12

You will see a page titled “Add vehicles for automobile exchange”.  On this page you can add the details of any vehicle you wish to make available for your exchange partner. Once you have entered your vehicle details once. You can choose to include this vehicle in any agreement you create in the future. Then click the “Create agreement” button at the bottom of the page.

Step 13

You will then be shown new agreement open in the edit page. You can edit any aspect of the new exchange agreement. If you agreement is not ready yet you can click “Save changes” and come back to it later, or if you are ready click “Ready to sign” and we will mark the agreement as ready to sign and contact the other member.

Step 14

You will now be back on the overview page. You should see your new agreement and any vehicle you have added to the system listed. You can edit these by clicking the 'edit' link in the right hand column.
